SOLUTION:

let the value of 80° be ∠a

so, ∠a = ∠x   (vertically opposite angles)

As this is an isosceles triangle,

ATQ,

∠x + ∠y + ∠y = 180°    (angle sum property)

=> ∠x + 2∠y = 180°  

=> 80° + 2∠y = 180°  

=> 2∠y = 180° - 80°

=> 2∠y = 100°

=> ∠y = 100°/2
