Answer
- The Polar Bears adaptate themselves from polar regions in following ways :-
- Polar bears have white fur. Because of this, they are not visible in the snowy white background (i.e., they camouflage with the surroundings). The white fur, thus, protects them from the enemies (predators) and helps them in catching their prey.
- Thick fur retains the body heat and
- protects bears from extreme cold.
- There is a thick layer of fat under the furry skin. This also insulates their body.
- The paws of polar bear are wide and large having claws. These help them to walk on snow comfortably . Strong paws help
- in digging the snow, holding the prey and
- for self defence.
- Polar bears have keen sense of smell to
- locate their enemy and prey.
- Polar bears can remain under water for
- long because they can close their nostrils.
