Area and volume both have same means, both tells how much space is occupied by any substance.
concept of area is used in 2D and concept of volume is used in 3D.both are used to find how much space is occupied by substance.

raveenaraj: i want separate meaning
kaushikravikant: area is used to find covered space by 2 dimension and volume is also used to find covered space by 3 dimension object
