As far as informal language is concerned , I think the sentence is fine as it is.
However if you want to sound formal and stick to the so called "Reported Speech" rules, then you'd better write or say:
- My daughter said that she had seen a strange dream the (night before/previous night)
Pretty much what has already been suggested! But, if only one article can be used in place of the incorrect one, the following sentence would swing better:
- My daughter had a strange dream last night.
‘had’ replaces ‘saw’ in the above sentence.
