Answer:

1/x-2y = 1/3,

cross multiplying

x- 2y = 3 ---- 1

1/x+2y = 1/7,

cross multiplying

x +2y = 7 ---- 2

2 - 1

x + 2y = 7

x - 2y = 3

----------------

4y = 4

------------

y = 1 ----- 3

3 in 1,

x - 2(1) = 3

x - 2 = 3

x = 5

Therefore x = 5, y = 1

Hope it helps, if it does, pls mark as brainliest :))

• According to given question :

 :  \implies  \frac{1}{x - 2y} =  \frac{1}{3}   \\  \\   : \implies x - 2y = 3 -  -  -  -  - (1) \\  \\  :  \implies  \frac{1}{x + 2y} =  \frac{1}{7}   \\  \\  :  \implies x + 2y = 7 -  -  -  -  - (2) \\  \\ \bold{Adding \: (1) \: an d\:(2) } \\    : \implies x    - 2y  + (x + 2y) = 3  +  7 \\  \\   : \implies 2x = 10 \\  \\   : \implies x =  \frac{10}{2}  \\  \\    \green{ : \implies  x = 5}
