AB square/DE square = area of ∆ABC / area of ∆ DEF This is formula  Let area of smaller triangle is x 3 square /4 square = x / 48 9/16 = x/48 Cross multiplication 9*48 = 16x Transposition (9*48)/16 = x (9*16*3)/16 = x  (Because 48 = 16*3) 16 cancels 16 9*3 = x 27 = x  Please please please mark as brainliest

Answer:

27cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

let ABC and DEF be 2 similar triangles and corresponding sides be BC and EF

i.e BC=3cm and EF=4cm

let DEF be bigger triangle with area =48cm²

let ABC be x

ar(ABC) /ar(DEF) =(BC/EF) ²[The ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides]

x/48=(3/4)²

x/48=9/16

x=48*9/16

x=27cm²

therefore area of triangle ABC=27cm²
