Corresponding sides of two similar triangles are in the ratio of 2:3. If the area of first triangle is 48 square cm, then find the area of larger triangle.​

Answer:

Ratio of areas of two triangles = ( Ratio of corresponding sides of the triangles)²

Let, the area of larger triangle be 'x' cm²

48/x = (2/3)²

48/x = 4/9

by doing cross multiplication

48×9/4 = x

108 = x

Therefore, the area of the larger triangle is 108 cm².
