Fe reacts with the moisture and oxygen content in air to form iron oxides. The engineering properties (strength, hardness) decreases proportionally with the magnitude of corrosion. Hence, the stability of the structure decreases, a serious phenomenon.

If this helps then plzzzzz mark me brainliest.
