Hey friend,
We know that corrosion is the process in which iron gets oxidized slowly to form its oxide.
It is a natural process we can't stop completely but we can reduce it.
1) By Coating a metal surface with paint, oils or enamel provides a barrier between the metal and the moisture in the environment.
2) coating a metal surface with another metal that is more likely to be oxidized is referred. Ex : galvanisation
3) cathodic protection :

Cathodic protection works by converting unwanted anodic (active) sites on a metal's surface to cathodic (passive) sites through the application of an opposing current.

The rusting of iron can be prevented by painting, oiling, greasing, galvanising, chrome-plating, anodising or making alloys. The learner will be able to know how to escape from the economic loss of metallic objects by keeping them corrosion resistan
