***Chances of Unemployment:

This we can see with an example. The private education and training institutes are given permits to start providing education. This permit is given based on the infrastructure and sufficient recruitment of eligible staff. Here there are good chances of corruption. The institute or college managements try to bribe the quality inspectors so as to get permits. Though there is no sufficient eligible staff these institutes get permission from the inspectors leading to unemployment. Instead of 10 faculties, a college is run by 5. So, even if well-qualified persons wish to get a job there, they will not be offered. If there was no corruption by inspectors, then there would be a chance for more employment.

Poor Health and hygiene: In countries with more corruption one can notice more health problems among people. There will be no fresh drinking water, proper roads, quality food grains supply, milk adulteration, etc.

These low-quality services are all done to save money by the contractors and the officials who are involved. Even the medicine provided in hospitals for the hospitals are of sub-standard quality. So all these can contribute to the ill health of common man.

Pollution: Pollution is mostly emitted in the form of water pollution, air pollution, and land pollution. This pollution is from vehicles and factories. The governments have a monitor on this pollution by regular check of vehicle emissions and also industrial exhausts.

Corruption effects-on pollution

Corruption in the government department lets the industry people opt to release of untreated and harmful waste into rivers and air. If there is no corruption, there can be fair probes. Then the industry personnel will treat the waste such that it is less toxic and harmless to environment and people in it. So we can mean that corruption is also the main cause of pollution.

Accidents: Sanction of driving license without proper check of driving skills in the driver leads to accidents and death. Due to corruption, there are countries where one can driving license without any tests.

**Effects of corruption on Economy

A decrease in foreign investment:

There are many incidents wherein foreign investments which were willing to come to developing countries have gone back owing to heavy corruption in the government bodies.

Delay in growth: Due to desire to mint money and other unlawful benefits, the official who needs to pass the clearances for projects or industries delay the process. A work which can be done in few days may be done in a months time. This leads to delay in investments, starting of industries and also growth. Even if started, company growth hinders as every work linked to officials get delayed due to need to provide bribes or other benefits

Lack of development: Many new industries willing to get started in particular region change their plans if the region is unsuitable. If there are no proper roads, water, and electricity, the companies do not wish to start up there. This hinders the economic progress of that region.

Corruption prevents economic growth of the country and affects the life of citizens

Corruption is an obstacle that the people of a country must overcome to be a happy nation. The national goals of economic prosperity, infrastructural development, and overall advancement will remain elusive until corruption is wiped out from our country. Eliminating corruption is impossible without the collective will of the people and the Government. The next major revolution India will have is anti-corruption revolution. It has already started.

Indians have seen so much of corruption and its horrible consequences that they have only one yearning; they all want to live in a corruption free India. Every Indian wishes to breathe in a cleaner, prosperous, progressive, stronger, self-reliant, more organized India. This is possible only when the evil of corruption has been totally vanquished.

My vision of India includes completely corruption free India. I envision every Indian (especially in the public sector and Government run departments to be completely honest and corruption free). I envision an India where all Indians are working for higher ideals such as excellence, perfection, creativity, I envision an India in which all Indians are working zealously to make it one of the most advanced, clean, green and peaceful country in the world.

Einstein quite rightly said, “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.” India is a developing country facing many challenges. Corruption is the most detrimental of them. India was placed at 76th position out of 168 countries with a score of 38 out of a possible 100 in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index 2015.

Corruption is like a canker to the health of the economic and technological prosperity of a nation. Owing to corruption the national income and resources of the country are misused and diverted for selfish and personal gains. Why is it that all politicians manage to amass huge properties and staggering bank balances?

Corruption does not let the benefits of the Government schemes to reach the needy and deserving citizens. As a result the poor remain the poor and the country suffers.

Owing to the scams and scandals national wealth worth billions of rupees is wasted. The burden of this entire loss is borne by the people of India whose hard earned money is thus wasted by these corrupt government officials, bureaucrats and politicians. If the whopping amount of national wealth that is wasted, misused, and misappropriated in these scams and scandals, are spent on creating the infrastructure in the country, it will give the much required impetus to the pace of the developmental progress of the nation. Corruption is the major hurdle to foreign investment by MNCs that could further precipitate the process of development of our country.

Now the most crucial question: ‘How to curb this evil of corruption?’ Although many anti-corruption agencies have been created to fight curb corruption, but they exist in name only. The only solution to the problem of corruption is people’s involvement in eradicating it from the face of our country. They will have to take the issue in their hands. The French Revolution and the Russian Revolutions stand as perfect examples which show when the people of a country unite against an oppressive evil, how the evil just vanishes. Since they are the losers in all the scams and scandals, as the money wasted and misused is their tax money, they have the right to curb scams and scandals. There must be large scale protests by the people against scams and ill practices.

The people must play a more proactive role in curbing corruption. The corruption has grown to such a big problem only, because we, the people have condoned these scams and scandals. If the people of India had protested against these scams initially, and demanded explanation from the government, these scandals would have been nipped in the bud. However, they did not take it seriously. Now, the time has come when they must unite against this evil, and launch a campaign to make India corruption free.

If people of India have to achieve invincible prosperity in the fields of health, finances, science, technology, and innovation, they must adopt the principle of integrity. Applying integrity even in the minutest details, they must persevere in the fields above mentioned. The prosperity will certainly follow. So the people of India have to adopt two-pronged strategy to root out corruption from their motherland—fight determinedly against corruption, and work assiduously and honestly for the national development.
