ACTH is secreted from the anterior role of pituitory gland under the regulation control of corticotropin releasing hormone  secreted from hypothalamus.After being secreted the ACTH travels tvia the blood stream to adrenal gland and stimulates the adrenal cortex to secrete glucocorticoid ,mineralocorticoid(aldosteorone).ACTH act by binding to cell surface receptor also known as G protein coupled receptor .The binding of ACTH stimulates the activity of adenylate cyclase resulting in the formation of intracellular cAMP.
