hope this helps. factorisation and simplifications are done using

 \sin {}^{2}  \alpha   +  \cos {}^{2}  \alpha  = 1
and

 \tan^{2} \alpha  =     \frac{ \sin {}^{2}  \alpha }{ \cos {}^{2}  \alpha  }
