1st of all write the question properly before posting ...

question is there cos²A - sin²A = 2cos²A -1

from LHS ..

cos²A - sin²A

=> cos²A - ( 1-cos²A ) ➡[•°•sin²A = 1- cos²A)

=> cos²A - 1 + cos²A

◀HERE'S ⏬ YOUR ANSWER▶

LHS
 {cos}^{2} \beta  -  {sin}^{2}   \beta  \\  =  {cos}^{2}  \beta  - (1 -  {cos}^{2}  \beta ) \\  =   {cos}^{2}  \beta  -  1  +   {cos}^{2}  \beta  \\  = 2 {cos}^{2}  \beta  - 1
= RHS (Proved)
