==> cos θ - √( 1 - cos² θ) = 1

==> cos θ - √sin² θ = 1 ( •°• sin² θ + cos² θ = 1 )

==> cos θ - sin θ = 1

Square both sides:

==> 1 - 2sinθcosθ = 1

==> 2sinθcosθ = 0

So,

θ = 90° or θ = 0°
