.........

(cos^2)20° + (sin^2)(90°-70°)
/ (sin^2)59° + (cos^2)(90°-31°)

.... [(cos^2)α = (sin^2)(90°-α)]

(cos^2)20° + (sin^2)20°
/ (sin^2)59° + (cos^2)59°

[sin^2 α + cos^2 α = 1]
So,

(cos^2)20° + (sin^2)20°
/ (sin^2)59° + (cos^2)59°
= 1/1 = 1
