SOLUTION

GIVEN

The cost is

\displaystyle \sf{  C = 2 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 10 }

TO DETERMINE

The average cost at x = 10

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the cost is

\displaystyle \sf{  C = 2 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 10 }

Now we have to find the average cost at x = 10

The average cost

\displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{C}{x} }

\displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{2 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 10}{x} }

\displaystyle \sf{ =  2x + 3 + \frac{ 10}{x} }

The required average cost at x = 10

\displaystyle \sf{ =  (2 \times 10) + 3 + \frac{ 10}{10} }

\displaystyle \sf{ =  20 + 3 + 1}

\displaystyle \sf{ = 24}
