To find:

The amount of cloth s being purchased by Rs. 540.

Solution:

Rs. 28 is the cost of  $3\frac{1}{4} = \frac{13}{4}$ m cloth.

∴ Rs. 1 is the cost of $\frac{4}{13}$ m cloth.

∴ Rs. 504 is the cost of ( 4 × 504)/13

                                      = (2016÷13)

                                    = 155.08 m

∴ 155.08 m clothes can be purchased by Rs.155.08
