let the cost of one banana be x

so cost of 1 orange =x+1

total cost =24

cost of 3oranges+cost of 4 bananas=24

substituting values over here:

3(x+1)+4x=24

3x+3+4x=24

3x+4x+3=24

7x=24-3

7x=21

x=21/7

x=3

therefore cost of

1 banana=x=3

1 orange=x+1=3+1=4

So cost of one orange is 4 rupees
