Answer: a. Rs 48.8

             b. 10 kgs

Step-by-step explanation:

given: the cost of 5kg of wheat is 30.50 rs

a. 5kg= rs30.50

   8kg= rs x   (let cost be x)

By cross multiplication

           x × 5 = 8 × 30.50

            x = (8 × 30.50) / 5

             x = 48.8 Rs.

b. 5kg= rs30.50

   y kg= rs 61   (let quantity be y)

By cross multiplication

           61 × 5 = y × 30.50

            x = (61 × 5) / 30.50

             x = 10 Rs.
