ANSWER (a)

Cost of 5 kg wheat = rs. 30.50

Cost of 1 kg wheat

= rs.  \small\frac{30.50}{5} = \: rs.6.10

Cost of 8 kg wheat

= rs. 6.10 × 8

= rs. 48.80

ANSWER (b)

Wheat can be purchased for 30.50 = 5kg

Wheat can be purchased for rs.1 = 5/ 30.50 = 6.1

Wheat that can be purchased for rs. 61

= 1/6.10 × 61 kg
= 1/610/100 × 61
= 61 × 100/610
= 10 kg
