Dozen of pens are for Rs 180
so one pen costs
180/12=15
Each pen costs Rs 15

cost of 8 ball pens is Rs 56
so one ball pen costs
56/8=7
so each ball pen costs Rs 7

the ration of cost of pen to the cost of ball pen is

15:7

Answer:

=> 15 : 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Here it is given that, we have to find the ratio.

Given that:-

The cost of dozen pens is Rs. 180

And the cost of 8 ball pens is Rs. 56

Use the unitary method to calculate the value of a single unit.

The unitary method is a problem-solving method that begins with determining the value of a single unit.

Cost of a dozen pens (12pens)  =  Rs. 180

Cost of one pen = \frac{180}{12}

Cost of one pen, C_1=Rs.15

Now, the cost of 8 ball pens = Rs. 56

Cost of one ball pen = \frac{56}{8}

Cost of one ball pen, C_2=Rs.7

Now consider the cost of a pen in comparison to the cost of a ball pen.

\frac{C_1}{C_2}=\frac{15}{7}

Hence, the required ratio is 15 : 7.
