Cost of pen= ₹6 2/3

=₹6.66

Cost of pencil= ₹4 1/6

=4.16

Hence pen costs more

6.66-4.16= 2.50

Hence pen costs more by ₹2.50

Answer:

Pen costs more by ₹ 2 1/2 or ₹5/2 or ₹2.5 .

Explanation:

Cost of a pen = ₹

6 \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{20}{3}

Cost of a pencil = ₹

4  \frac{1}{6}   = \frac{25}{6}

20/3 = 6.67(approximately)

25/6 = 4.17(approximately)

So the pen costs more .

 \frac{20}{3}  -  \frac{25}{6}    =  \frac{40 - 25}{6}    =  \frac{15}{6}   =  \frac{5}{2}  \:  or \:  = 2\frac{1}{2}  \:or \:  = 2.5

Pen costs more by ₹5/2 or ₹2.5 .
