Solution!!

The cost of levelling a rectangular field is given whic is Rs 4620. The cost of levelling 1 square metre is also given which is Rs 15. We can write it in this way.

1 : x = 15 : 4620

Here, x is the square metre being levelled.

1/x = 15/4620

x = 4620/15

x = 308

So, an area of 308 m² is levelled up.

This is the area of the rectangular field. The length and breadth are given in a ratio of 11 : 17.

Let the ratio be 11x and 17x.

Area = Length × Breadth

308 m² = 11x × 17x

308 m² = 187x²

28/17 m² = x²

x = √(28/17)

x = (√28)/(√17)

x = (2√7)/(√17)

x = (2√7)/(√17) × (√17)/(√17)

x = (2√119)/(17) m

11x = 11 × (2√119)/(17) = (22√119)/(17)

17x = 17 × (2√119)/(17) = 2√119

So,

Length = (22√119)/(17) m

Breadth = 2√119 m
