Given,

The cost of 3 books and 2 pens is Rs 190

This implies 3x + 2y=190 eq 1

The cost of 2 books and 5 pens is Rs 200

This implies 2x + 5y=200 eq 2

eq1 - eq2

3x+2y=190

(-)2x+5y=200

These equations by multiplying by 2 can be written as shown below

6x+4y=380

(-)6x-15y=-600

-11y=-220

Therefore,y=20

By this we can get x=50

Therefore,cost of one book is equal to ₹50

Cost of one pen is equal to ₹20
