loss = x/10-x/12
=x/60
loss % =x/60 ×10/x ×100
= 16.67%

Anonymous: 16.66%
aanja19780323: how u have reached to x/60 figure
aanja19780323: u have taken lcm and than sorted it out
saifulndc: let, cp of 10 banaas is x. cp of 1 banana is x/10. sp of 12 banaas is x. sp of 1 banana is x/12..then, x/10-x/12...= 6x-5x/60 =x/60
saifulndc: 60 is the LCM of 12 &10
saifulndc: yes...

Given,

The cost price of 10 bananas = The selling price of 12 bananas

To Find,

The loss percent =?

Solution,

Let the cost price of 1 banana be x

The cost price of 1 banana = x

The cost price of 10 bananas = 10x

According to the question, we know

The cost price of 10 bananas = The selling price of 12 bananas

The selling price of 12 bananas = 10x

The selling price of 1 bananas = 10x / 12

Loss = Cost price of 1 banana  - Selling price of 1 banana

Loss = x - (10x / 12)

Loss = (12x - 10x) /12

Loss = 2x / 12

Loss = x / 6

Loss percentage =  [Loss / Cost Price] *100

Loss percentage = [(x/6) / x ]*100

Loss percentage = 100 / 6

Loss percentage = 16.67%

Hence, if the cost price of 10 bananas is equal to the selling price of 12 bananas then the loss percent is 16.67%.
