Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

Let the selling Price of each kg article be Rs. X

Cost Price of 36 kg articles = Rs. 1040

Cost Price of 1 kg articles

= Rs. 1040/36

=Rs. 260/9

Cost price of 1 kg articles = Rs. 260/9

Profit on 1 kg articles

=> Selling Price - Cost Price

=> X -(260/9)

=>Rs. (9X-260)/9

Profit on 36 kg articles = Selling Price of 10 kg articles

=> 36×[(9X-260)/9] = X×10

=> 4×(9X-260) = 10X

=> 36X -1040 = 10X

=> 36X -10X = 1040

=> 26X = 1040

=> X = 1040/26

=> X = 40

Selling Price = Rs. 40

Selling Price of each kg articles = Rs. 40

Selling Price of 5 kg articles = 5×40 = 200

Answer:-

Selling Price of 5 kg articles = Rs. 200 for the given problem

Used formula:-

  • Profit= Selling Price - Cost Price
