While the consumers' in south India are more evolved, more experimental and on average spend more, the north Indian consumers are somewhat lethargic, but are more demanding than consumers in other parts of the country. North is a relatively more price-sensitive market and north Indian consumers are materialistic, quality conscious as well as status conscious. Wheat and wheat products are consumed more in north India. People in south India consume rice.
