cosx + sinx =  \sqrt{2} cosx \\ sinx = ( \sqrt{2}  + 1)cosx \\ tanx =  \sqrt{2}  + 1

Therefore,

 {tan}^{2} x + 2tanx \\  =  {( \sqrt{2} + 1) }^{2}  + 2( \sqrt{2}  + 1) \\  =  {( \sqrt{2}) }^{2}  +  {(1)}^{2}  + 2 \sqrt{2}  + 2 \sqrt{2}  + 2 \\    = 2 + 1 + 4 \sqrt{2}  + 2 \\  = 5 + 4 \sqrt{2}
