Hi ,

here I used ' x ' instead of theta .

we know that

1 ) cot x = cos x / sin x

2 ) Cosec x = 1 / sin x

3) 1 - cos² x = sin² x

according to the problem given ,

cot² x - cosec² x

= ( cos x / sin x )² - ( 1 / sin x )²

= ( cos² x - 1 ) / sin² x

= [ -(1 - cos² x ) /sin² x ]

= [ - ( sin² x ) / sin² x ]

= -1

I hope this helps you.
