cot 40 / tan 50 - 1/2 ( cos 35 / sin 55 )

= tan 50 / tan 50 - 1/2 ( sin 55 / sin 55 )

= 1 - 1/2

= 1/2

Given:

cot 40 degree by tan 50 degree minus 1 by 2 (cos 35 degree by sin 55 degree ).

To Find:

The value of the given expression.

Solution:

1) We will write the given term in the mathematical term

cot 40°/tan 50°- 1/2 (cos 35°/sin 55°)

2) To solve this  question we will use the property of the trigonometry.

  • tan(90-∅) = cot∅
  • sin(90-∅) = cos∅

3)cot 40°/tan 50°- 1/2 (cos 35°/sin (55°)

  • cot 40°/tan (90°-50°)- 1/2 (cos 35°/sin (90°-35°)
  • cot 40°/tan 40°- 1/2 (cos 35°/cos 35°)
  • 1 -1/2
  • 1/2

cot 40°/tan 50°- 1/2 (cos 35°/sin 55°) = 1/2
