Cotton textile industry is b) agro based industry.


The major basis of the agro based industries is the use of plant and animal based products as their raw materials. Besides, in India, 60% of the Indian textile Industry is cotton based.


In addition to that, the cotton textile industry is one of the largest single industries in India.


The first unit of cotton textile was established in 1818 at Fort Gloster near Kolkata.
