Could the animals in food group 3 depend only on plants if animals were not available? Why?​

THERE could be a chance of it. Suppose if the animals have a desire to live but they don't receive their habitual food then they would try for something else which will create a problem for them in the beginning but then the hormones and chromosomes will develop themselves accordingly creating a change in the species.
