Yes.. they can ve seperated with a SEPERATING FUNNEL method in which water and oil mixture is put in thhe device and the liquids form 2 layers .. the one more dense will form lower layer and when the stock button is opened the oil will come out before Water and hence we can stop the liquid flowing when oil has seperated
