There are 46 chromatin fibres present in a human cell . When the cell prepares to divide, this chromatin fibre condenses into thick ribbon like sister chromatids which are attached together by a small constriction called centomere. Thus after a mitiotic division the number of chromosomes remains the same in two daughter cells.
