          Digital India creates cyber crime

Good morning everyone present here. Distinguished guests, learned jury, and my dear fellow students, I stand here to debate on ‘Digital India creates cybercrime’; and I am going to express my views against it.

I strongly feel ‘Digital India’ has revolutionized everything in the country. It has created efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of exchange of information and transaction in almost all aspects at all levels. Bank transactions have become so convenient and hassle free; bank clients don’t have to waste their precious time standing in queues.  

Similarly, all bill payments can be done online, which again saves so much of time of each and every individual.  

With the spread of ICT infrastructure and the boom in mobile telecommunication sector, connecting every citizen to the government’s planning, implementation, and information about the key services and facilities offered by the government is not only easy, but beneficial also. Citizens are directly connected to banks, taxation, electricity, and many other government departments that send regular information about the benefits, changes, facilities regularly on their mobile phones. Distribution of LPG cylinders is an example of it. It is all digital. Similarly, India is going online. More and more people are using more internet facilities. Almost every big or small business is using internet. Many online companies are providing online shopping services. Almost everything is available on internet. And people are availing these facilities with a smile on their faces.

Undoubtedly, each facility brings responsibility to handle it wisely and carefully. Digital India also has its own challenges such as cyber-crime. This challenge can be tackled by taking certain precautions.  

Hence, it can be concluded Digital India is a blessing. It can be fully enjoyed and utilized by being cautious and responsible.
