Countries which have more than one timezone with the reason

For some countries, take Germany for example, there is no discrepancy in time between Köln and Berlin if they used one universal German time. On the other hand, we have relatively larger countries like Australia where time in Perth is three hours behind Sydney.
It’s all because of Earth’s curvature. Different places will experience different time for sunrise and sunset. Hence, sunrise in Sydney could be in the middle of the early morning when it is still dark and far from sunrise. Hence the need for different timezones between Perth and Sydney for example, even if they’re in the same country, just so the time in certain places reflects the position of the sun.
