Tourism as an industry has been travelling with the wild pace of technological advancements and aboard are people from different places and cultures interacting with increasing ease….since, the globe had been shrunk into a village.                                                                                      Tourism in India is of great value to the government of India as they generate ₹15.24 lakh crore which is 9.4 % of India GDP in 2017 and the expectations are an annual growth rate of 6.9% annually. It benefits the tourist in the sense that it gives them more insight about India. In 2016, 8.89 million tourists visited India while in 2017, 10 million tourists visited India.

Nature

India covers a vast landmass with varied natural terrains. From Himalayan Mountains through Gangetic plains and Thar Dessert to the Deccan Peninsular plateau and the Coastal Plains it covers many climatic regions. Each has its own beauty to which people are drawn. Hill stations like Shimla, Beaches of Goa and Kerala and deserts of Rajasthan are the main tourist centers.

Spirituality

India is famous for its spiritual knowledge that arises from here. There are centers of this knowledge such as Varanasi and Vrindavan that beckon those that seek this knowledge.

History

The Taj Mahal ranks as the most visited monument. Beautiful Palaces and forts, such as those of Rajasthan and Mysore apart from the remains of Hampi and Khajuraho are places most visited for historical importance.
