29 (a) A spherical mirror produces three times larger real image of an object when it is placed at 16cm in
front of it. Calculate the position of the image an also state the type of mirror.
(b) What is the range of the focal length of spherical mirror?
(c) If an object is placed between focus and pole of this mirror, find the nature of the image formed..

Let us solve for this :

Explanation:

A) Magnification = - 3

Object distance (u)=-16cm

Image distance (v)= ?

We can find that : m=-v/u

                             -3=-V/-16

                              V=-48cm

The mirror is concave mirror .

B)The focal length is infinity .

C)) If an object is placed between focus and pole of this mirror,the nature of image is virtual , erect and magnified .

D)When the object is at centre of curvature , the image is also formed at C .The ray diagram for the same is given below .
