In Covalent Bonds, bonding is formed by give and take of electrons between donor and acceptor atoms.
Eg NaCl : Here Na donates it's outer most electron to Cl which results in maximum stability. Also Directionality comes in action as Cl accepts the electron. Direction will be from Na --> Cl
While in ionic bond, Bonding takes place by sharing of electron equally to complete their octave form and gain stability. eg.CCl4
In CCl4
Carbon ( C ) instead of giving away it's electron from the outermost orbit shares them with Each of the 4 Cl to achieve stability.
As there is Sharing there is no Directivity in bond formation.
