◇ Covalent compound are formed by sharing electrons not gaining and lossing ((ions)) so they have no charge so they are bad conductors of electricity but,

◇ The effect of difference in electonegativity between H and Cl make the bond between them polar so hydrogen carries partial positive charge and chlorine carries partial negative charge

◇ The polarity of the compound in solution make it conduct electricity
