  • Torch is a Source of White Light.
  • White Light passes through Transparent coloured paper, but the Light that comes out will be of the paper colour.
  • Lets Assume that: You have covered the torch with transparent red coloured plastic paper.
  • Light that comes out of the Torch is now Red-Light.
  • When this falls on an opaque object, Light does not emerge through it. So, Light passes around the opaque object leaving a shadow of the opaque object on the screen that is kept beyond the object.
  • What we can see is: Red coloured light passing around the shadow of the opaque object.
