Life challenges are difficulties which must be met, met to succeed and to do so usually include displaying admirable qualities such as bravery and perseverance. Do life 's difficulties always bring out a person's best or worst? The challenges can either make a person or break him. Difficult times can show a character's true colors, for better or for worse than in my personal experiences. .
Explanation:
- When I was younger and in the face of adversity, I recall hiding or running away, not accepting it. One dramatic example was my 1st trekking camp of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) with my uniformed party at Chembra Peak trek, Wayanad Hills, Kerala, one of the most famous jungle treks in the southern peninsula. I had a difficult feeling for the first time. Whenever the instructors rebuked us, and the sessions of these 'lectures' seemed endless, I'd be too shaken to do anything else and would "cringe" at the back of my group
- This expedition was like nothing I've ever done before. That was a 40-kilometer walk thru the dark and humid jungles, and not a nice pleasant tour in an air-conditioned bus. I believe that these are the best challenges in people as one of our group members had collapsed from the exhaustion of the heat at the midst of the process. I was then powerless to blame him because I felt I was prepared to slip down, too, with the heat of the sun continuously pounding on us.
- I was in loss at first because it seemed so difficult to survive and finish the camp, that rather than showing the best in me. Each team challenge event was the same – I was the 'load' of my team, the 'weak bond,' who was always too afraid to do anything, always too timid to talk to each other and especially too cowardly to help my fellows. I just wanted to run to save my skin. However, what does not kill you make you stronger, and as the trekking expedition progressed, I found this to be true
- As the challenges became tougher many of us started getting exhausted, at times without water our tongue getting parched, insect bites despite carrying repellents and applying lotion, rugged path, steep rocks, bushy plants at times thorny, and so many such obstacles. Yet each of us joined in, helped pull our friends who weakened and had continued for the remainder of our journey, and even under the scorching sun and the thick, damp air. I felt that brought out exemplary traits in the team. We showed resilience, perseverance and empathy for our fellow team mates because of the challenge.
- To conclude, if challenges bring the best or the worst out of a person, it depends if the person is able to take the test. When put in complicated circumstances, different individuals respond differently. Some of them may be glowing in the darkness that brings out their beauty; others may be stabbed by their darkness and show their worst form. I have the privilege of "attaining" these from my own experience. Thus, I agree that the argument that "challenges in life bring the best out of a human being" is correct if they generate good traits in that person
