(Let us first define the terms.)
Pedagogy refers to the methodology of teaching while emancipatory refers to giving freedom. Creative and emancipatory pedagogy is indeed a potent combination to bring out the best in a student.
Each child is different and comes endowed with a unique set of skills. The educational system however is very limited in its scope and tries to put each student into a straight jacket, meaning that each child is expected to learn and perform in the same standard way. This hampers the individuality of the learner.
As portrayed in the movie 'Taare Zameen Par', the freedom and encouragement given by one teacher changes the outlook of the child forever. The teacher through his observation and genuine interest in the children's welfare notices the lack of interest and creatively addresses the problem.
The teacher identifies the child's forte and creatively gives the child an opportunity to showcase his talent. This encourages the child to express himself through art, and release his pent up feelings and de-stress himself. In turn, this helps the child build confidence and develop a sense of self-worth, thus improving grades overall.
Creative activities, which give the learner the freedom to express himself in a variety of ways, including art, speech, write-ups and role plays, encourage the child to open up. Such activities, which are of interest to the child reduce the stress of academics and promote an interest in learning.
