Criteria for  modern taxonomic studies:

Modern taxonomic studies includes criteria as follows,

  • Ecological information of organism
  • Development process
  • External and internal structure

The ancient taxonomic studies were based upon the similarities and dissimilarities shown by the organism. First it came up with two kingdom classification and later after certain more analysis it gave rise to five kingdom classifications.

Classification of animals based upon the characteristics exhibited by them gives more information about the animal when they are studied or analyzed.
