In the poem “Wind” Subramania Bharati focuses on the theme of the friendship with the wind which is the reason for a lot of destruction. The poem is about how one can build a relation with something which is harmful and a cause of destruction. The poet requests the wind to be calm and soft and not be the reason for any harm to him. The poet then asks the wind to build the relation of friendship and help in building things and not in breaking. In this way, the poet is able to seek friendship with the wind.
