The poem "the listeners" is written by the "walter de la Mare". The poem is actually a simple poem which depicts the loneliness of a man . It shows the a traveler on anxiety  .This poem illustrate a phentom listener who reside in a man and always knocking door. In the poem a traveler goes to a house and knocks the house many times but no one listen the knock and no one open the door so the traveler goes back. Although this poem is simple but depicts the deep message inside him showing the sadness and a voice every body has in them.
