The poet actually is seeing the every thing at the night with appearance  of silvery color. The trees have taken the silver color even the dogs claws as well as the mice and  streams have the silvery appearance . This is all due to the glistening of the stars and shinning of the moon. The poem Silver highlights the beauty of the night when everything gets a silvery look. This includes the moon and the stars that look like silver fruits. The silver beam on the sleeping dog makes it appear as if the dog has silver paws. Likewise, the eyes, feathers and claws of the mice and doves appear to be made of silver. The stream in which the fish swim is no exception as it looks like a silver waterfall. The reeds by the side also appear to have a silver touch.
