When one has good, like-minded friends, then life becomes full and purposeful. Ambitions and dreams can be shared and accomplished together.

The Duck lives in a pond but yearns to travel. It loves adventure, though apprehensive of what lies outside the pond. The Kangaroo is a traveller and has hopped all around the place. The Kangaroo was looking for someone to travel with - a travelling companion, and that is when he meets the Duck. The Duck pleads with the Kangaroo to take him along on his travels, to which the Kangaroo agrees. They soon find out that they are the best of companions, as they travel around the world.

The short story ‘Duck and the Kangaroo’ is written by English writer, artist, poet Edward Lear (1812 – 1888).

In the poem, the duck and the kangaroo, we have seen a beautiful bond between the two completely opposite animal.

They are always there for each other during their tough time and even when the duck asked for the back ride, kangaroo allowed her to do so and they travel the world together.
