The two characters,Rizwan, a would-be reporter,and Kasim, a rag seller, are so poor that they are worried only about their survival. They are on the verge of starvation. Though they belong to two different stratas of society the problem is same : how to escape from pangs of hunger. Rizwans interview of kasim is just an attempt to save himself from monster of hunger. The story is a piece of dramatic reportage by a would-be journalist.Before being considered for the job he needs to submit interviews of 5 people. His questions to kasim are sharp and precise, on the other hand kasims answers are revealing. He belonged to a family where everyone died of hunger,he says he and perhaps his sons will die too.
