Hamlet enters into the room behaving like he is all mad. He would speak something that made no sense at all. This is because he wants to play the game of action and make Polonius and Claudius believe that he is really mad. His equivocation and the method behind this game is that if Polonius and Claudius believe that he is really mad, they would get their guards round him up. This act would give Hamlet a better chance to attack and kill Claudius to take revenge for his father’s murder by Claudius.
